Treatment Method

The following is the method Dr. Brooke uses to achieve wellness in each individual. Every patient receives a treatment plan that is tailored to their specific needs.

Step 1.  Listen and Investigate

All to often in today’s busy medical model, patients are shuffled out the door with a prescription and a diagnosis without so much as a “Hey, how ya doin?”  When you see Dr. Brooke, she will take the time to listen to all of your concerns, ask questions to get to the root of the problem, and answer any questions that you have.  A typical new patient intake with Dr. Brooke lasts anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, or as long as it takes to gather all the information necessary to make sure you receive the best care possible and a treatment plan is specific to you needs.

Step 2. Remove Obstacles to Healing

Obstacles to healing come in many shapes and sizes.  Some people have many, some may have none.  Dr. Brooke is trained to detect if any of these obstacles exist or require further investigation, which she will do during the extensive initial interview process.  When we can remove these obstacles, healing happens much more quickly and easily.  Some examples of obstacles to healing are food sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies, environmental toxicity, thyroid imbalances, unhappy relationships or job situations.  With Dr. Brooke’s guidance most obstacles can be removed or corrected.  If you have something that cannot be removed right away, we can work around it and it usually ends up resolving itself through the healing process.

Step 3. Stimulate the Body to Heal

Step three is the most important and Dr. Brooke’s favorite step, stimulating the body to heal! Your body has a profound, innate ability to heal itself.  Think about when you get a cut on your finger or a cold, your immune system attacks whatever the offending agent is and your body heals.  In dis-ease something has gone awry with your body’s innate ability to do this, maybe it is just a weakening of the immune system, or even in some cases the body actually turning on itself (as in autoimmune conditions).  Whatever the case may be, some underlying imbalance has occurred in your system, which has thrown off your natural ability to heal.  This is where homeopathy comes in.  Homeopathy, when applied correctly, has the ability to correct this underlying imbalance.  It allows your body to recognize and correct the misalignment that has happened.  When your body is stimulated to heal, your symptoms improve, leaving no trace of dis-ease behind.  So while it is important to give the body what it needs to heal, in terms of nutrition, exercise, supplements, etc.  The real key to healing lies in correcting the underlying imbalance with homeopathy.  You can learn more about what homeopathy is here.

Step 4. Give the Body What it Needs

This step usually relates back to step 2, removing obstacles.  Each individual is different in what he or she may need. Some may need a grain-free diet, some may need vitamin D supplementation, a regular exercise routine or counseling.  Dr. Brooke will work with you to figure out what you need to support your mind and body.  Usually all that is needed is the correct homeopathic remedy, but occasionally, a little extra help is called for.
